Document Description
Reclamation District 1601 began construction of habitat area by excavation and re-contouring approximately 60 feet of the waterside levee. Planting of native vegetation within the habitat area began in February 2000 and is scheduled to be completed by April 2000. However, to successfully create the emergent tidal marsh and shaded riverine aquatic habitat, 12 openings need to be constructed in the setback levee to allow inter-tidal flows into the habitat area. This project involves the excavation of the material plugging the openings into the habitat area.
