On March 31, 1999, Sonoma Stage Vineyards filed an application to appropriate a total of 40 acre-feet per annum (AFA) from both an unnamed ephemeral stream tributary to Champlin Creek and from Champlin Creek tributary to Rogers Creek thence Fowler Creek thence Sonoma Creek thence San Pablo Bay, in Sonoma County. The applicant initially sought a diversion season of November 1 through May 31, but agreed to a shortened diversion season of December 15 through March 31 of the succeeding year for the protection of instream resources.
