Document Description
The project consists of widening Highway 101 and included in that will be a bridge widening to accommodate the HOV ramp at the existing Coyote Creek crossing. The current low flow channel will be realigned in one location to protect one existing pier that is being exposed by scouring. Trees that may have blocked and redirected high flows toward the pier will be removed and the creekbed will be regraded to direct flows away from the pier. Rock slope protection will be placed below grade around existing exposed bents (piers) in the creekbed. The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2001-0117 pursuant to section 1601 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, Jeff Funk/Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority.
