Document Description
Tulare County as lead agency, together with the Cities of Dinuba and Visalia, are proposing to widen approximately 16 miles of the Alta Avenue/Road 80/Plaza Drive travel corridor and reconstruct the Plaza Drive/State Route 198 interchange. The purpose of the proposed project is to upgrade the corridor to meet the projected travel demands for the planning horizon of 2028. The principal work includes widening the existing right-of-way (and thus the roadway) between El Monte Way (Avenue 416) and Airport Drive from its current two lane configuration to a four or six lane configuration (depending on the segment), reconstructing the Plaza Drive/State Route 198 interchange, widening of bridges crossing water courses and irrigation canals, widening of railroad crossings, realigning irrigation canals and utilities, and property acquisition, as required.
