Document Description
The Operator proposes to alter the streambed by removing sediments and by above-ground cutting/mowing of vegetation as part of the Operator's maintenace within two segments of Alvarado Creek, located between 70th Street and Fletcher Parkway in the City of La Mesa, County of San Diego. Due to previous flood control/freeway construction projects, the work area is channelized stream; portions of the work areas are concrete lined (sides and bottom), while the remainder of the work area has a soft bottom/cobble channel, but bank stabilization ranges from none to mortared rip-rap. The Operator will avoid entering the streambed with heavy equipment, by staging and operating heavy equipment in upland areas on the south side of the channel. Operator proposes to remove approximately 100 cubic yards of sediments (sand and silt) within the concrete lined portions of the stream channel.
