Document Description
The California Department of Health Services (DHS) proposes to construct a media filter treatment facility project to remove iron, manganese and arsenic from a standby potable well and provide a reliable water supply. Metropolitan filing this Notice of Exemption as a Responsible Agency under CEQA, in that we are providing funding for the project.

The site an existing water utility system with a well, a storage tank (24'x33'), booster pump and liquid chlorine building. The proposed media filters project consists of the replacement of existing utility structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced involving negligible or no expansion of capacity.
