Document Description
The Conditional Use Permit would allow a public event to occur on July 21-23, 2000 reenacting a civil war battle with an accompanying street fair that will temporarily block Main Street from vehicle traffic. A portion of State Route 89 will also be blocked briefly to allow the participants to cross the road during the "muster". The participants in the reenactment will be camping in a vacant field to the south of State Route 89, and the battle will occur on Sunday in the field (s) adjacent to the camp area. On Saturday, July 22, the McCloud Railroad Company, will participate in the event by operating restored #25, a stream engine. The mock battle on Sunday, July 23, will include period weapons and horses. The street fair, on both Saturday and Sunday, will demonstrate life skills representative of the era, recreating the old folkways with demonstrations and exhibits. There will be a gate charge to view the battle on Sunday.
