Document Description
The Mendocino Coast Recreation and Park District (MCRPD) proposes to develop a regional park on 745 acres in an unincorporated portion of western Mendocino near the City of Fort Bragg. The project includes a nature park, a sports park, and an 18-hole championship golf course. Phase 1 development in the southern two-thirds of the project site includes the golf course and nature park with hiking, mountain biking, and jogging trails; covered barbeque and picnic area; children's playground; horseshoe, basketball, and volleyball facilities; and lawn areas. Phase 2, the sports park, would be developed at a future time on the north end of the site with softball, baseball and soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts, and an additional covered picnic area. Phase 3 of the regional park project still in the conceptual stage, could include a BMX course, motorcycle trails, and a 3-acre "special-event area" in the northernmost portion of the site.
