Document Description
The project consists of a request to approve a conditional use permit to allow an 8,478 animal unit dairy on a 126 acre portion of a 1,192 acre site. The dairy would house approximately 4,800 Jersey milk cows, 782 dry cows, 3,865 heifers, and 630 calves. Facilities developed within the 126 acre production site are to include a 23,928 SF milking barn, 8 enclosed freestall barns, a special herds barn, a commodity barn, seven hay barns, a silage slab, a calf nursery, feed lanes, open corrals, service roads, 8 solids ponds and two lagoons. The remaining 1,066 acres within the project area will be utilized for the growing of field crops and will be available for the disposal of liquid and solid waste generated by the operation.
