- The Mid-City/Westside Transit Corridor Project study area is located on the Westside of Los Angeles County and encompasses approximately 112 sq mi. The study area is roughly bounded by the Pacific Ocean on the west, Sunset Boulevard and the Hollywood Freeway (US 101) on the north, Hope Street and Figueroa Street on the east, and Slauson/Manchester Boulevards on the south. The study area includes portions of the City of Los Angeles, unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County (Baldwin Hills, Sawtelle), and the Cities of Culver City, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. The proposed project is linear and includes various land use designations and zonings.
- Document Description
- The proposed project is a 9.5-mile extension of the light rail transit system in Los Angeles. The route will begin at the 7th/Flower Metro Red and Blue Line station then use part of the existing Blue Line before splitting off near USC, where it will continue along the MTA owned Exposition Boulevard right of way, traveling 7.7 miles to Venice/Robertson Boulevards. The project will include eight to nine new stations plus upgrades to existing stations, providing up to eleven stations for the length of the initial segment of the route to Culver City. The alignment will primarily be at-grade.
