Document Description
The proposed fuel reduction project would occur over a three-year period from winter 1999 to winter 2001, with specific components accomplished in each year, as follows: Year 1, In forest plantation areas on the University property within 100 to 500 feet of residences, trees would be selectively removed to create defensible space for fire fighting equipment and personnel. Minor road improvements. Year 2, the majority of the work would be completing the low fuel and brush removal along the ridge above the Panoramic Hill area up to Grizzly Peak Boulevard. Year 3, For the extent of the fuel removal zone including along the Lower Jordan Fire Trail, campus and contract hand crews would intensively treat under story and surface vegetation.
