Document Description
The drilling of the Verano Well test hole is part of an overall effort to re-establish the Verano Well for municipal water supply purposes. The test well will be drilled no deeper than 1,000 feet and provide the data needed to confirm the depth of the aquifer and the specific formation in which it is located. The test hole is being drilled because SCWA has now declared a state of impairment, for up to 10 years, as regarding its ability to reliably supply its contract water customers-including Valley of the Moon Water District-especially during the peak use periods of June through September. It is crucial that VOMWD redevelop local supply to deal with the SCWA impairment. The District owns the Verano well site. Testing will allow the District to determine what water sources are available at this site.
