Present Land Use
Primarily single-family residential land uses front on the side streets that are served by Lewelling Boulevard Mobile home parks and small commercial centers are located to the western end of the street. New single-family homes are being developed at Roberts Landing. West of the railroad tracks, behind a soundwall. Existing mobile homes and single family homes back to the eastern side of the railroad tracks, with wood fences and landscaping buffers. Commercial / industrial uses are located to the west of the tracks in Alameda County. San Lorenzo Creek forms the boundary between the City and County and is crossed by a railroad track bridge. The pipeline is proposed to cross below the creek channel west of the bridge.
Document Description
The project would involve the installation of a new 54 to 66-inch diameter sewer interceptor pipeline (few if any lateral connections would be permitted). The pipeline would intercept three existing 30-inch pipes that currently serve the area. It would follow a new route that would reduce the length of force mains and minimize disruption to established neighborhoods. Several force mains and trunk lines also would be intercepted further downstream. The pipe would cross under the railroad tracks and under the San Lorenzo Creek flood control channel to connect to the existing truck line in Grant Avenue.
