Document Description
The Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD) proposes a project to rehabilitate (by lining) and replace a major portion of the Back Bay Trunk Sewer (BBTS), Contract No. 5-46 to prevent further deterioration. The proposed project, alternative B-1 of the February 2000 Preliminary Design Report by Tran Consulting Engineers, calls for lining of the existing pipe which lies within Big Canyon and paralleling the remaining portions of the pipeline with two plastic pipelines (each being 30 inches in diameter). The construction would be staged in various segments to facilitate construction that requires road closures and tie-ins with the existing pipeline. At critical junction points, new junction structures would be constructed along with new manholes along the route. A Spill Prevention Program will be an important element of the construction and tie-ins.
