The Orange County sanitation District is proposing replacement of the Back Bay Trunk Sewer along its route beneath Back Bay Drive and rehabilitation in-place of a portion of the existing pipeline locating within Big Canyon, an ecologically sensitive area because of severe corrosion. The project design has been selected from several alternatives to minimize environmental impacts and the potential for spills of untreated wastewater.
