Reasons for Exemption
The Department of Fish and Game believes that the Project is exempt under Title 14, Division 6, Chapter 3, Section 15302, because the installation of the barrier at the Head of Old River is installed to benefit both juvenile and adult chinook salmonn in the San Jaoquin River system by providing directional flows in the mainstem of the San Joaquin River system. No loss of either aquatic or terresterial habitat will occur as a result of installing and operating the barrier and culverts at the Head of Old Rver.
