Document Description
The proposed project consists of re-routing of existing steam and condensate return piping at Metropolitan State Hospital. The proposed project would re-reoute the piping currently located under Building 304, which is abandoned, to a direct line from Building 315, to an existing steam and condensate piping located under abandoned building 303 to a direct line from Building 305 to the Religious Center, and from the Religious Center to Building 301. The existing piping along the old routes would be abandoned in place. The project is needed because the of deteriorating conditions in the existing direct buried p8iping and piping in concrete chases within the site distribution system. In addition, it is necessary to replace and re-route the distribution piping under the abandoned buildings that will ultimately be demolished. The proposed project will help to distribute the steam more efficiently from source to point of use. The project does not involve expansion of existing use.
