Document Description
This project is located at 550 El Rancho Drive on Carbonera Creek, tributary to San Lorenzo River, Section 1, Township 11S, Range 2W, in the City of Santa Cruz, County of Santa Cruz. The creek has been impacted by urbanization such as increased storm water flows into the creek due to impervious surfaces. The project consists of constructing a storm water outlet from a subdivision to be constructed in the summer of 2001. The outlet was redesigned from a Reno mattress (original application) to an outfall riser placed above the two and a half year storm event. The outfall pipe shall be placed above the ground, except for the road crossing, and properly secured to the bank to withstand a 100 year flood. The storm water detention area was also redesigned to detain a 100 year storm versus a 25 year storm. The redesign will minimize storm water impacts and the area of impact. The CDFG is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement #R3-2000-1196 pursuant to Section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Operator, Steve Benedum.
