Document Description
The Department of Water Resources (DWR) has reached a settlement agreement with the Cities of Fairfield, Vacaville, and Benicia (Cities). Under the Settlement Agreement, the Cities could receive a maximum of 31,620 acre-feet of water annually. This water will be made available to the Cities from existing State Water Project supplies and under SWP water rights. DWR will also provide conveyance of the settlement water using the North Bay Aqueduct through an agreement with Solano County Water Agency. Pumping of settlement water at the Barker Slough Pumping Plant will increase but remain within all existing regulatory constraints. The Cities intend to use the water to increase current water supply reliability and to support foreseeable planned growth.
