Most of the site is in an M-1 (Light Industrial) Use District; the eastern part is zoned M-2 (Heavy Industrial). The entire site is in a 40-X Height and Bulk District (40-foot height limit, no bulk limits). The project site is currently occupied by six vacant one- to three-story industrial buildings that were most recently occupied by Schlage Lock Company, and a seventh building that formerly housed the company offices.
Document Description
The proposed project, on Bayshore Boulevard north of Sunnydale Avenue, involves the demolition of nine buildings (the former Schlage Lock factory and other structures) totaling approximately 526,000 square feet and construction of a building of approximately 108,000 square feet to be used as a"Home Depot" retail center. The proposed project also includes an outdoor garden center of approximately 17,000 square feet, landscaping and lighting. Approximately 865 parking spaces would be provided in a surface lot south of the Home Depot store, which would be on the east side of Bayshore Boulevard approximately between Raymond and Visitacion Avenues. Access to the parking lot would be from two driveways on Bayshore Boulevard. Freight loading would occur on the east side of the store, with truck access at the northwestern corner of the project site.
