Document Description
The City of Imperial is proposing to construct a Class I Bicycle Facility spur along the east side of State Route 75 from the intersection of SR-75 and Boulevard Avenue to a point near the intersection of SR-75 and Rainbow Drive. The spur would extend the Bayshore Bike route approximately 2,584 feet, with 1,484 feet in the City of Coronado and 1,100 feet in the City of Imperial Beach. The spur will be separated from vehicular traffic on SR-75 using "k-rails," a concrete barrier, and from the adjacent salt pont using a cabling barrier. It should be noted that the concrete barrier is only required on 950 feet of the project's 2,458-foot total. The spur will also require the construction of retaining walls in the existing salt pond where necessary to establish a level grade and the minimum width of 12 feet for the bike path, and as needed to maintain the Class I rating of this facilty.
