Document Description
Santa Maria Energy (SME) filed an Oil Drilling and Development Plan (ODDP) with the County Planning and Development Department proposing a cyclic steaming operation at its Carega oil lease located in the Orcutt Hills south of Orcutt off Graciosa Road. The project is proposing to use recycled water produced by the Laguna County Sanitation District (LCSD) for the streaming process. To transport the water, SME will extend the District's existing recycled water pipeline approximately 8 miles and construct two booster pump stations. Once constructed and accepted by LCSD the acres in land currently under agricultural preserve contract) are needed and are being acquired by LCSD for the installation of improvements. The project benefits the LCSD by providing discharge capacity for its recycled water to meet the needs of planned development including that described in the Orcutt Community Plan.
