Document Description
The proposed project consists of actions and activities necessary to provide for approximately 70 years of long-term solid waste disposal capacity for the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority (Authority) jurisdictional area. The proposed project includes modifying various elements of the existing solid waste management system under the jurisdiction of the Authority, including the Crazy Horse Sanitary Landfill, Johnson Canyon Road Landfill, Jolon Road Landfill, and an existing or proposed transfer station/materials recovery facility (TS/MRF) in the Salinas area. The project elements also include the development of a TS/MRF in the King City area. The project is described and analyzed in terms of four scenarios, with each scenario containing several elements of solid waste management activities to achieve the purpose and objectives of the project.
