Document Description
In June 1999, the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority (Authority) Board directed staff to develop project descriptions to achieve a goal of a minimum 70 years' disposal capacity for their service area. Staff were also directed to focus their studies on the use of existing Authority facilities including Crazy Horse Sanitary Landfill, Johnson Canyon Road Landfill, and Jolon Road Landfill. Staff subsequently developed four potential landfill expansion project scenarios described below. The scenarios constitute different means to accomplish the project's landfill capacity goal.
