Zoning for the proposed project site is Commerical/Office Land Use emphasis District.
Document Description
The project is the acquisition of a parcel of land in downtown San Diego for future use by the County of San Diego as a new location for a replacement courthouse facility. No construction will take place at this time; only site acquisition is currently proposed. Ultimate construction will occur at a later date and is intended to provide new courthouse space in the downtown San Diego region so that functions housed in three separate facilities-the County Courthouse, the Madge Bradley Municipal Court, and the Family Law Buildings-can be consolidated into one building. The replacement courthouse must upgrade, replace and consolidate 69 courtrooms currently located in the three separate court facilities, and it will provide one additional courtroom for a total of 70.
