Document Description
The proposed project consists of a Standard California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) two-engine forest fire station, including a 14 person barracks, mess-hall, a 3-bay apparatus building, a dozer/transport storage facility, an apparatus building (for Resource Management and Battalion Chief vehicle) wash rack, and a 100 square foot fuel facility building. The project also includes the construction of additional office space for the Battalion Chief and Area Forester, connecting utilities, paving and landscaping. The existing buildings would be demolished and removed from the site. These buildings have been altered several times in the past, and they no longer retain historic integrity. Based on a site visit and consultation with existing evaluations performed by a CDF archaeologist it has been determined that the project would not have a significant effect on biological and cultural resources in the area.
