Document Description
The proposed project at the California Medical Facility (CMF) would replace the existing exterior cell windows with new five inch slit windows, both operable and fixed. All cells, single and double occupancy would have one new five inch slit window installed in each existing window opening. Due to the large window banks in the dorms, all dorms would have two new windows installed to allow for additional natural light in these larger rooms. All new windows will be fabricated in conformance with approved CDC standards, and similiar of indentical to those used in the New Prison Construction program. Operable windows would be installed in wings that do not have air-conditioned cells or dorms for ventilation purposes. The project would replace a total of 1662 windows. The project would accommodate the existing population and involves no expansion of existing use.
