Document Description
The project proposes to construct three ramadas adjacent to the main staging area/parking lot. Each complete "ramada" will contain a fire ring, picnic table, and a 14' by 16' by 12' wooden ramada. The area is near the riparian habitat of a minor seasonal drainage just southwest of the existing parking lot facility. The proposed project area will be about 800 feet long (running NW to SE parallel to the drainage) by about 400 feet wide at its widest point. The proposed project area is about 40 feet from the drainage. All trees and shrubs in or near the proposed project area will not be removed or damaged. The existing soil is comprised of compact tailings and cobble from previous dredging activity. The area will be scraped flat, and the substrate will be covered with two inches of decomposed granite to provide a stable surface.

Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
class 3 section 15303
Reasons for Exemption
The riparian area near the project area formed around a seasonal drainage that was created by dredging and is highly disturbed. No trees or shrubs will be removed or damaged. The existing soil is highly compacted so the absorption rate of the decomposed granite should not be significantly different.
