Document Description
The proposed project at the California Correctional Institution (CCI) at Tehachapi would drill a new well as part of the second phase of a project to provide potable water for domestic consumption at the prison. The project would include 1,000 feet of new line from the proposed well to the existing distribution system, seismic retrofit of the existing storage tanks, and the addition of a one million gallon storage tank. Currently, CCI is comprised of four distinct facilities. The Level I, II, and III facilities obtain their potable water from groundwater wells, and the water is chlorinated for disinfection purposes. The Level IV facility was required at the time the facility was constructed to obtain its water from the Tehachapi Cummings County Water, which is State Project water. This water goes throug a surface water treatment facility at CCI.
