Document Description
The proposed project would upgrade the fire alarm system and install a lobby smoke enclosure system on each of the 16 floors of the State of California's Resources Building at 1416 Ninth Street. The project would place smoke containment curtains at each elevator opening, and smoke detection and power associated with the new smoke enclosure system. In addition, the project would include fire alarm notification applicances at all corridors and work areas, a fire alarm annunciator at the building manager's office, a new fire alarm panel, and battery power extenders. This project is needed to correct fire and life safety deficiencies cited in the State Fire Marshal report of May 1996. The project would accommodate the employees who currently work in this State building, with no expansion of existing use.
