Document Description
The Fish and Game Commission will be the lead agency and the Department of Fish and Game will prepare a revised environmental document pertaining to the recreational and commercial harvest of giant kelp (Macrocystis) and bull kelp (Nereocystis) in ocean waters. The project objectives are to provide adequate resource protection to ensure its continued existence, while providing for commercial harvest consistent with aesthetic, educational, scientific and recreational uses, taking into consideration the necessity of regulating the harvest within the limits of optimum sustained yield.
