Document Description
The CDFG is executing a SAA #0491-99 pursuant to Section 1603 of the FGC to the project applicant, Ron Rosenbrand, representing Charles Krug Winery. The applicant proposes to remove vegetation along approximately 2000 feet of York Creek east of the railroad tracks, 2000 feet along Napa River between York Creek and Deer Park Road, and approximately 2000 along an unnamed tributary to the Napa River south of Deer Park Road in the City of St. Helena, Napa County, for the control and management of Pierce's disease. Pierce's disease is caused by a bacterium that infects the tissues of various plants, including grape vineyards. The disease may result in deteriorated health of the death of infected vineyard plants. The bacteria are spread by an insect which is often found on host plants in the vicinity of vineyards. Following vegetation removal, a revegetation plan will be implemented.
