Vista Murrieta High School, Murrieta Valley Unified School District

The Murrieta Valley Unified School District proposes to acquire 62 acres of land for the construction and operation of a new high school. The high school is anticipated to serve 4,000 students, grades 9 through 12, in approximately 325,000 square feet of permanent and temporary building area. Approximately 300 faculty and staff are expected to work at the school. In addition to classrooms, the proposed high school will also include ancillary uses such as an athletic stadium, athletic fields, tennis courts, swimming pool, auditorium, and parking lots accommodating approximately 1200 vehicles. It is anticipated that outdoor lighting will be installed for many of these ancillary uses. Students will primarily use the school between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. However, extracurricular student activities and community use of the facilities will extend the hours of operation for portions of the facility to aproximately 10:00 p.m. It is anticipated that 12 to 15 buses will serve the student population. The buses typically arrive at 7:00 a.m. and depart at 2:15 p.m.
