Document Description
One of the projects evaluated in the Zone 7 Water Supply Planning Program FEIR (June 1999) is the implementation of a water transfer of 15,000 AF from Lost Hills Water District, which is a member agency of Kern County Water Agency, to Zone 7. (page 2-12 of FEIR) This transfer is implemented through an agreement between Zone 7 and Lost Hills, subject to the approval of DWR and KCWA. Under the agreement, Zone 7 purchases 15,000 AF of permanent entitlement from KCWA, which Lost Hills holds as a contractual right as a member of KCWA. DWR operates and maintains the State Water Project (SWP), which delivers water to the Bay Area, the Central Valley, and Southern California. KCWA and Zone 7 both have long-term water supply contracts with DWR for water service from the SWP. As a result of this transfer, KCWA
