Document Description
The project involves construction of a nominal 1,048 megawatt natural gas fired power plant and appurtenant transmission line, water pipelines and natural gas line. The project may result in take of the following species protected under the California Endangered Species Act, requiring issuance of a California Incidental Take Permit ("Permit") for these species: San Joaquin antelope squirrel, giant kangaroo rat, Tipton kangaroo rat, San Joaquin kit fox, Swainson's hawk, Bakersfield smallscale, and California jewelflower. The blunt-nosed leopard lizard, which is state listed and a fully protected reptile, may also occupy the project area, but incidental take of the blunt-nosed leopard lizard is not authorized by the permit and the permit holder must avoid take of this species.
