Document Description
The proposed project work will be an enhancement activity with the purpose of habitat improvement, which will enphasize the planting of various native plant species to create riparian woodland along portions of the western side of Sacramento Deep Water Ship Channel. The plantings will occur in two (2) sections on the lower shelf along the Channel, starting at approximately levee mile 7.0 and ending at levee mile 8.0. The first section will be 700 feet long x 35 feet wide, the second section will be 700 feet wide x 30 feet wide. The total square footage of the enhancement activity will be 45,500 square feet of riparian woodland.

Section 15308, Actions by Regulatory Agencies for the Protection of the Environment - The project intends to protect the existing amf future environment of the site through the issuance of a Conservation Easement. Section 15313, Acquisition of Lands for Wildlife Conservation Purposes - The project includes a Conservation Easement whose Purpose is the preservation and enhancement of wildlife habitat. Section 15325, Transfers of Ownership of Interest in Land to Preserve Open Space - The project includes the transfer of a Conservation Easement, to forever protect existing and enhanced riparian habitat.
