Document Description
The project involves modification of an existing Waste Tire Storage Permit for MELP to allow a change in the Operation Plan for the boundaries of the waste tire acceptance area. The necessity for the change in boundaries of the acceptance area is a result of a recent fire, the subsequent remediation efforts undertaken by the CIWMB, federal EPA, and other state and local agencies, as well as private parties, and the winterization plan that is currently being implemented. A water pipe was installed (as part of winterization ) to prevent runoff from entering the burned and disturbed areas. Approximately one-third of the previous tire acceptance area is being used for the pipeline.

The tire storage facility has been in existence prior to the enactment of the statute requiring the issuance of Waste Tire Storge Permits.
