The proposed action calls for the removal of a bridge and its reconstruction slightly downstream to facilitate higher flows required to increase flood control protection of the entire L.A. River Improvements Project. The new bridge site will also enhance public safety in that law enforcement agencies will have easier access and surveillance opportunities.
