Document Description
Both applications use the same Points of Diversion (PODs) and serve the same Place of Use, 40 acres of vineyard (34 planted). The dam at POD#1 forms an onstream reservoir (built 1972; approx. 49 acre-ft.) on one of the unnamed streams. At POD#2, water is diverted from an Unnamed Stream channel into an artificial earthen channel through a 12-in-diameter culvert approximately 800 ft. long with a capacity of 2.99 cubic-ft./second. Application 30490 requests diversion to storage of up to 49 acre-ft. per annum, collected from both POD#1 and POD#2 between Dec. 15 and Mar. 31. The Purpose of Use of stored water include frost protection, heat control, stock watering, fire protection, irrigation, and incidental recreation. Application 30491 requests direct diversion of up to 35 acre-ft. per annum between Mar. 1-31 for frost protection. POD#2 is on an Unnamed Stream that, in its lower reaches near the Napa River, supports steelhead trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
