Document Description
The project applicant proposes to establish a wetland mitigation bank on the Rancho Jamul Ecological Reserve, San Diego County. California Department of Fish and Game is adopting a Negative Declaration and executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1603 (SAA No. 5-287-99) of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Wildlife Inc. The project would impact at worst 5,632 feet of wetlands habitat (willow riparian and freshwater marsh) to place headcut stabilization structures within Jamul Creek which would provide long-term benefits to function. Impacts would be off-set through removal of exotic plants and long-term management of 3 acres of stream channel along Jamul Creek. A wetlands mitigation bank would be created through the creation of 45 acres of wetland habitat and 1.7 acres of unvegetated stream channel along portions of Dulzura and Jamul Creeks. In addition, 51.8 acres of existing stream channel would be enhanced through the removal of exotic plants and long-term management.
