The purpose of the proposed General Plan update is to address projected growth in the City and the associated increase in demand for services and facilities. The major objective of the General Plan update process is to provide land use, Quality of Life standards and policies that will accommodate the projected population increase while achieving and promoting the City's goal of sustainable economic growth. The following identifies the City's specific objectives for the project:
* To supplement the current mix of housing to provide housing for all income categories.
* To strategically in-fill properties with land uses compatible with surrounding areas.
* To provide a variety of housing types and lots sizes that compliment surrounding areas without straining existing services and facilities.
