Document Description
The proposed project would construct a Mobile Equipment Maintenance Facility (Auto Shop) at the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Cuesta Camp. The proposed facility would maintain and service emergency mobile equipment for the California Department of Forestry San Luis Obispo Ranger Unit Headquarters. The proposed project would construct two buildings: a 9,000 square foot, 32' high auto shop building and a 500 square foot bulk oil storage building for the purpose of heavy equipment maintenance. Two existing facilities, a wood frame carpenter shop and a maintenance building will be demolished to accommodate the new buildings. All other buildings on the site would remain. The mobile equipment maintenance facility relocation will accommodate space needs for the maintenance of critical mobile emergency equipment that serves a Direct Protection Area (DPA) of approximately 1.7 million acres of land.
