Document Description
The proposed Civic Center/Metlox development consists of a combined Civic Center redevelopment project (approximately 97,000 square feet) and a private commercial mixed use development (approximately 90,000 square feet). The entire project site is approximately 7 acres (4.5 acres of Civic Center and 2.5 acres of Metlox site). The Civic Center includes the existing Fire and Police facilities, which will be demolished and a new, 57,000 square foot combined facility would be constructed. The existing Library would be demolished and a new, 30,000 square foot Library and 10,000 square foot new 99-seat Cultural Arts Center would be included in the Civic Center, with subterranean and surface parking. The Metlox portion includes retail, restaurant and office uses, a 40-room lodging component, and subterranean parking. Thirteenth Street would be extended across the site, connecting Morningside to Valley Drive. The project applications have not yet been received, reviewed or accepted.
