Document Description
Modification of CUP to allow for an on-site tire processing and storage facility. As proposed, the on-site tire processing and storage facility will occupy 5.5-acres of a 77-acre parcel within a mine's permitted boundaries. Development would consist of a mobile trailer, a mobile of semi-mobile shredder, prescribed fire suppression equipment, fencing and one "whole" tire stockpile. The stockpile would contain a maximum of 5,000 whole tires at any given time and measure a maximum of 25 feet wide by 100 feet long by 10 feet high with eighty foot fire access lanes along all sides. Under the present plan of operation there would be no stockpiling of processed or shredded tires at the site. All shredded tire would be buried in approved reclamation pits within forty-eight to seventy-two hours of processing barring periods of inclement wet weather. Imported water would be used for dust suppression. Potable water for the mining operation is currently obtained from the Lost Hills Water District while nonpotable water is obtained form the California Aqueduct. Vehicular access would continue to be via Holloway Road which is designated as a "Select Local Street" alignment by the Circulation Element of the Kern County General Plan.
