Lake Chabot Municipal Golf Course

The proposed project would make improvements to the existing 263-acre Lake Chabot Municipal Golf Course, including reconfiguring the existing golf course from one 18-hole course and one 9-hole course to a single 18-hole course. The proposed project would also include constructing a new approximately 12,000 square foot clubhouse to replace the existing 5,000 square foot clubhouse, a new approximately 1,000 square foot and beverage outlet, and new maintenance buildings and bathrooms to replace the existing ones. In addition, the project would expand the existing 200 space parking lot to 250 spaces, and realign the existing access road. The proposed project would be located at the existing Lake Chabot Golf Course in the Oakland hills, at the end of the Golf Links Road. Surrounding land uses include residential uses, an elementary school, and Anthony Chabot Regional Park. The zoning designation for the project site is Open Space/Special Use Park zone, which allows park uses that are compatible with surrounding land uses and the city's natural environment. The proposed use is consistent with the General Plan land use designation for the site, which is Urban Park and Open Space. Construction of the proposed project may require obtainment of various zoning permits including a Conditional Use Permit.
