The State's wildlife conservation policy contains, among other things, an objective of providing sport hunting use of selected species where such use is consistent with sustainable wildlife populations. The projecxt being considered is a proposal to continue to implement hunting as an element of north coast canada goose management. The objectives of the proposal are to maintain viable north coast canada goose populations and to provide public sport hunting opportunities through regulated harvest.
