The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to reclaim an existing sand and gravel materials site one half mile east of the intersection of Pole Line Road (State Route 167) and State Route 395 at KP 94.53 (PM 58.74), approximately 11 Kilometers (7 miles) north of Lee Vining in Mono County. A total of 1.1 ha (2.7 acres) will be actively reclaimed, 10.64 ha (26.3) acres have recovered to a point that reclamation would cause more impact than benefit.
