The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to mine and reclaim an existing sand and gravel materials site one half mile east of the intersection of Pole Line Road (State Route 167) and State route 395 at KP 94.53 (PM58.74), approximately 11 Kilometers (7miles) north of Lee Vining in Mono County. No permanent buildings or equipment would be constructed or stored on site. a total of 11.47 ha (29 acres) have been disturbed. Two acres have already recovered and will not be involved in future mining.
