Document Description
The Depatment of Veterans Affairs proposes to rehabilitate and upgrade Jefferson Hall, a group of residential facility. Rehabilitation will include remodeling of private living quarters, and upgrading of utilities, fire safety, and handicapped access. The project will replace the existing electrical system, install heating and air conditioning, install fire alarm and sprinkler system and increase fire ratings in the privately occupied rooms and exit corridors. The project is necessary because the 12,000 square foot building has an antiquated electrical system, lacks air conditioning and does not meet standards established by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The project does not propose to alter the exterior appearance or historically significant interior features of the historic building.
