Document Description
A septic tank maintenance and management program is proposed to include the entire community within the urban reserve line established by the Estero Area Plan portion of the San Luis Obispo County General Plan.
The proposed collection system maintains most of the septic tank infrastructure currently in place (except those septic tanks that were installed prior to the establishment of the County septic tank standards and requirements) to be used as primary collector of solids (setage) and the primary reactor for the anaerobic breakdown of the sewage solids. About 993 acres will be served by the collection system (3,853 dwelling unit equivalents). The collection area generally corresponds to the areas within the community where the depth to groundwateris less than 30 feet. Solids from all septic systems will be periodically pumped and transported by truck to the septage receiving and treatment facility.
